HELLO!

I became a sex educator from a love of supporting teenagers.

I got my own start as a teen.

In the spring of sophomore year of high school, I attended the 1993 Gay Rights March on Washington, to this date one of the largest protests in US history.

This political rally modeled an intersection between sex education, socio-political advocacy and community building that I continue to use a model in my work.

Our
Story

Me & my Grandma Jenny

I had a lot of unanswered questions.

Coming of age in the wake of the AIDS epidemic, I was given a lot of knowledge about condoms, and a lot of fear about getting sick and even dying from using them wrong.  Dating wasn't discussed at home, and ultimately I became a sex educator as a result of furiously trying to educate myself.

Each generation aims to share their gains with the next. However, science and educational theories evolve. Research shows that we tend to repeat our childhood lesson to the next generation, unless we have a chance to reflect and learn fresh, current perspectives.

My work is to help provide the best sex education we can to our young people. I do this through fighting for correct policy, quality education for our young people, and support for the adults who guide those young people.
